This cookie policy explains what cookies are, which cookies Mantawall ("we" or "us") uses on this website, why we use them and how you can manage or withdraw your consent. This policy should be read together with our privacy policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet or phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them function more efficiently and to provide information to the website owners. In addition to cookies, similar techniques may also be used, such as pixels and local storage; where we write "cookies" in this policy, we also mean these similar techniques.
How do we ask for consent?
When you first visit our website, we show a cookie notice. We always place essential (functional) cookies, because the website does not work properly without them; no consent is required for these under the law. Non-essential cookies — such as analytics cookies that are not configured in a privacy-friendly way, and any marketing cookies — are only placed after you have given consent. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time (see below).
Which categories of cookies do we use?
1. Necessary (functional) cookies
These cookies are needed for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions you take, such as setting your privacy preferences, saving your language choice, filling in forms or managing your shopping basket. No consent is required for these cookies.
- Cookie consent — remembers your choice regarding cookies (retention: up to 12 months).
- Language preference — remembers the language you have chosen (retention: up to 12 months).
- Session and basket cookies — needed for the ordering and payment process (retention: duration of the session to a few days).
2. Analytics cookies
With analytics cookies we measure how visitors use our website, so that we can improve it. We only place non-essential analytics cookies with your consent. Where possible, we configure analytics in a privacy-friendly way (for example without tracking individuals).
3. Marketing and tracking cookies
These cookies may be used by us or by external parties to map your interests and show relevant advertisements, including on other websites. We only place these cookies with your consent. At present we only use them when this is stated in the cookie notice.
Third-party cookies
Some cookies may be placed by external service providers we use, for example for payment processing, displaying embedded content (such as videos or maps) or for analytics. These parties may collect data about your internet behaviour through our website. We do not always have full control over these parties' cookies; for more information, consult the privacy and cookie policy of the relevant party.
Subprocessors
We engage the following subprocessors that process personal data on our behalf:
- Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd.: processing of online payments (based in Ireland).
- Hostnet B.V.: website hosting, email and domain management (based in the Netherlands).
- DHL Parcel Benelux B.V.: shipping of orders (based in the Netherlands).
Managing or withdrawing your consent
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time. You can do this in the following ways:
- Delete the cookies via your browser settings. This also erases your previous choice and the cookie notice will appear again on your next visit.
- Set your browser to refuse cookies or to notify you before a cookie is placed. Please note that the website may then not work fully.
In most browsers you can find these settings under "Settings" → "Privacy" or "Security". The exact steps differ per browser.
Retention periods
Cookies are stored for as long as necessary for the purpose for which they were placed. Session cookies are deleted as soon as you close your browser; persistent cookies remain on your device for the periods indicated above, unless you delete them earlier.
Changes to this cookie policy
We may adjust this cookie policy from time to time, for example when the cookies we use or the legislation changes. You will always find the most current version on this page, with the date of the last change at the top.
